Lyrics:

The ghosts are here, needing to be fed
With answers to the questions of the restless dead
There are dark thoughts circling in my head
I wish I’d listened to everything they said

The ghosts are here, they’re not laid to rest
They cluster round my bed at night and put me to the test
In some secret corner I knew I’d rue the day
I didn’t make more effort, I went my own way

The ghosts are here with their gift of guilt
My failures sewn together to make a shabby quilt
They say they forgive me – that I should forget
But I miss them still and I’ll always feel regret

The ghosts are here, needing to be fed
With answers to the questions of the restless dead
There are dark thoughts circling in my head
I wish I’d listened to everything they said

The ghosts are here, they’re not laid to rest
The ghosts are here, with their gift of guilt
The ghosts are here, the ghosts of December

Hey, Mr. Sun

Hey, Mr. Sun – the first tunes appear and you might think „G&T on a roof terrasse now“ or you simply would like to enjoy the sun. Well, you can do so. But listen carefully. It sounds as if Moira flirts with Mr. Sun but case is the opposite.

Nothing else but the sun to dissapear from her face. She is pretty clear with her request. Using her sweetest voice she demands: „Stop smiling down on me cause I want to make the most of the tragedy of him leaving me“.

The Backtrack is quoting the good old 80s and 90s jazzy tracks from Mat Bianco and Sade. The Saxophone representing Mr. Sun trying to flirt with Moira but she is pretty resistant and doobidoohs Mr. Sun away.

Oh how could the root of the problem (the man) just let her go – this charming girl (NOT?).
Superb British sarkasm packed into a soft jazzy easy to digest dress.

Hey, Mr. Sun

Lyrics:

Hey, Mr. Sun
Stop smiling down on me
‘Cause I want to make the most
Of the tragedy of him leaving me
I need to stand in the mist and rain
And savor all my pain
Of dejection, of rejection
Of deception of missing him
And your sunshine is getting in my way

Hey, Mr. Sun
Please get lost
Cause only gales and gloomy clouds can really match my mood
And seaside towns in winter where I can just sit and brood on heartbreak
On heartache
On what a snake he was after all
And your sunshine, your sunshine’s getting in my way

You might think this new love is the one for you
Soon you realize it’s more a case of ‚he’ll do‘
Turns out you’re not exactly charming the guy
In spite of all your concessions and mid-brown hair dye

Hey, Mr. Sun
Wish you’d take a hike
While I wait for my homicidal hostility to pass
And watch my heart sink to the bottom of my glass
So just stop smiling at me
Cause your sunshine’s getting in my way
Take a hike, please get lost

Hey, Mr. Sun
You’re really getting in my way
