Moira: I’d like to take this opportunity to say a big ‘thank you’ to lovely Yvonne O’Hara (who writes and sings under the pseudonym Narva9 on ccMixter.com) for allowing me to record her song.

Siobhan: Funk, Pop – the only song on the album one can actually dance too. Including a funky guitar – a very busy drum player and a straight forward bassline. Some organ and pad included also. There were so many good dancefloor classics written in the 70s which are played on every party (still).

Moira: Another possible short story transformed into song lyrics about a battered wife waiting for the next bout of senseless violence from her husband.

Siobhan: I wanted to make the slow drums and bassline pushing like the hits from the man Moira sings about. What a story!

About this Song:

Moira: My first idea was to do something with a flamenco flavour and rather obscure, humorous lyrics. However, my voice doesn’t suit that style. When Siobhan Dakay composed this deliciously laidback, vintage jazz number I knew it was the way to go.

Siobhan: The idea was to add an old fashioned and vintage Jazz costume to this song. Clearly there is a reference (hommage) in there to Stan Getz with the muted Horn Solo.

About this Song:

Moira: I thought it was time to write something with upbeat lyrics for a change and what better place for two prospective lovers to find each other than Canary Wharf during their morning commute!

Siobhan: I wanted to create a backtrack that combines good old songwriting like we know it from Burt Bacharach but using Johnny Marr Harmonies. Additionally I added a bit of drama working with the melancholic story Moira is singing about
